Sierra women independent group (SWIG)
SWIG will sensitise, produce culturally appropriate FGM information leaflets and will disseminate other FGM campaign materials.
SWIG will networks with schools and local communities and groups for preventing FGM and minimising the risk for young girls.
Sierra women independent group (SWIG) is a community organisation based in Bristol. We are a female only group working to address concerns of women and children in ethnic minority communities.
This is a big lottery funders project that aims to create awareness of the risk of female Genital Mutilation (FGM) amongst teachers and pupils from FGM prevalent countries.
This project will bring together community groups and organisations, health professionals and the police to work as a team in tackling the risk of female Genital Mutilation in prevalence communities in Bristol.
Free Creche available for parents with children aged 0-5. If you are interested please contact the organisers via email for more details.
